Tell us a bit about yourself and what inspired you to join our community.

Hi, I’m Oscar, French by passport, global by heart. After a few exciting years working in Marketing, Sales and International Trade in Western Europe and the Nordics, I found myself diving into the vibrant melting pot that is Singapore by working as a Wine Portfolio Manager for a local Wine & Spirits Importer. What was supposed to be a short adventure quickly turned into an enriching chapter filled with unexpected friendships, spicy food cravings, and more late night hawker centre debates than I can count.

I joined the Singapore Global Network because I love connecting with curious minds from all walks of life. Whether it’s swapping stories over Teh Siew Dai, talking about cultural quirks, or exploring new collaborations, this community felt like the perfect place to keep that Singaporean spark alive in me. Here’s to new connections, shared laughter, and maybe even a wine night or two!

Tell us about a cause you’re passionate about, and why it holds a special place in your heart.

One cause that’s close to my heart is sharing the beauty and culture behind fine wines and luxury products. I’ve always been fascinated by the stories they carry, the heritage of a vineyard, the craftsmanship behind a bottle, the emotion sparked by a perfectly paired glass of Champagne. Working in this world has allowed me to bridge tradition and innovation, and connect people through experiences that are both sensory and meaningful.

For me, it’s not just about luxury for luxury’s sake, it’s about celebrating excellence, supporting artisans creating the exceptional in small villages or farms that is then enjoyed all around the world. And creating moments that bring people together! Whether I’m introducing someone to their first Grand Cru or curating a portfolio that reflects authenticity and elegance, I find joy in elevating the everyday life with a touch of the exceptional.

What do you miss about Singapore, and how do you stay connected?

I seriously miss Singapore! It’s one of those places that just sticks with you. The food, the late-night walks, the crazy mix of cultures… it felt like home way more than I expected.

Since moving up to Scandinavia, I’ve found little ways to keep the vibe alive. I drink my morning kopi in my fav Kopi & Teh souvenir cup, bought on Arab St (okay, it’s not exactly the same, but it does the job), and I try cooking SG dishes whenever I’m feeling nostalgic, still working on my laksa game though.

I brought a large quantity of chocolates from Mr Bucket as well as enough Kaya to last years! Basically, I try to bring bits of Singapore into my everyday life here. It keeps me connected, and honestly, it just makes the day feel a bit warmer!
